About
Lord Fascinator is the alter ego of Australian musician Johnny Mackay, based in New York City for over a decade. His sets wander through cosmic disco, Balearic, leftfield house, Afro-disco and psychedelic oddities, with occasional detours into less identifiable territory.
Formerly the frontman of Children Collide, he's released three Fascinator albums, working with Darren Seltmann and Andy Szeceres — founding and current members of The Avalanches respectively.
He also makes film music, runs Midnight Rainbow, and can occasionally be persuaded to return to Australia for the right party.
